Early spring in the Cambridge University Botanic Garden in the company of Lucretius

Spring is definitely springing in the Cambridge University Botanic Garden where I spent a lovely lunchtime and early afternoon. For the first hour of my visit I enjoyed a flask of tea sitting in the warming sun on "Peter's Seat" (see first photograph) whilst reading Book VI of Lucretius' "De Rerum Natura"—without doubt, such days are amongst the greatest pleasures of my life.
